S&S X-Wedge engine timing belt idler kit

This is an important safety upgrade for all versions of the S&S X-wedge engine, as fitted to custom US motorcycles and the Morgan 3 wheeler. 


This upgrade kit reduces the possibility of premature failure of the timing belt idler pulleys and belt.

Description

Designed by Phil Bleazey and manufactured solely by us, this is an important safety upgrade for all versions of the S&S X-wedge engine, as fitted to custom US motorcycles and the Morgan 3 wheeler. 


This upgrade kit substantially reduces the possibility of premature failure of the timing belt idler pulleys and belt through the use of an 'angular contact ball bearing'.


This type of bearing is far superior to the original single race ball bearing as it not only provides a double ball bearing system, but it also prevents the under load idler pulley from running at an incorrect angle and thus ensures that the timing belt position remains central on the idler pulley.


See the annotated drawing below for an easy to understand comparison between the original idler pulley and the 'Bleazey upgrade'.


Kit includes:


  • Front idler, in EN1A steel and black anodised
  • Rear idler, in EN1A steel and black anodised
  • Back spigots (x2pcs), in EN1A steel and black anodised
  • Front spigots (x2), in EN1A steel and black anodised
  • Angular contact 'sealed race' bearings (x2pcs)
  • Circlips (x2)


Note that for ease of fitting, we will pre-assemble these kits for you prior to despatch.
